Before the Cleanse

To get the best out of the cleanse, its important to start right.

At least 3 days before the cleanse,


  • Start each day with some lemon and warm water. What’s better? Drink this throughout the day.
  • 2 litres of water to get the body going
  • Sneak in a few herbal teas (if you can)
  • Get rid of the caffeine, alcohol, soda and nicotine in your life. Well, if not for life then till the cleanse is on
  • Eat wholesome foods and avoid meat, poultry, breads, white rice, pasta and dairy


Since you are avoiding what you crave the most, we suggest eating:


  • Fatty acids like flaxseeds soaked overnight as spoonfuls throughout the day
  • Fruits, raw salads, raw or steamed vegetable and vegetable soups. If the meat cravings are intense, fish is a good option
  • Good olive oil, coconut oil, spices and lemon juice to kick the flavour up
  • Some soaked almonds if you like

During the Cleanse

While you are giving your body a complete rest, its essential that everything keeps flowing through the system.


  • Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday
  • Best part in a cleanse, take naps when tired. Going to bed early will help take your mind off of the food and help the cleansing.
  • Feel free to exercise, but listen to your body. Don’t over do it.
  • Warm herbal teas can be comforting.

After the Cleanse

Bask in the glory of a cleanse well completed. Your system is supercharged. Now its time to maintain it.

The more a system is kept optimised, the better you feel and function.
Our recommendation - break your cleanse by consuming three small meals the next day.

The first 2 days, post-cleanse, we suggest:

 Day 1

  • Breakfast: Fruit salad or raw veggie salad
  • Lunch: Fruit and Vegetable smoothie
  • Dinner: Steamed vegetables, raw vegetable salad (dressing: flax oil or olive oil with lemon)

Day 2

  • Breakfast: Fruit salad, smoothie or vegetable juice, maybe a slice of toast
  • Lunch: Raw salad with goat cheese and walnuts. Soup is also a great choice
  • Dinner: Raw salad, steamed vegetables and a small portion of whole grains (brown rice or quinoa) or sweet potato or legumes.
